Need help. Vacuum line.

I did a lot of maintenance on the Ranger this weekend and I cannot figure out where a certain vacuum line goes.

The line in question is light grey and clips to the heater core box. I know it goes into the firewall, I need to know where it goes on the engine.

This is the line in question. Does anyone know where it goes? or can snap a pic of the engine bay? I doubt this vacuum line is 4.0 specific.

Whatever is on that heater hose on that 2005 model I don't have. Only one heater hose has anything on it and it's for the heated PCV valve.

It goes from the firewall to the vacuum operated shut off valve on the heater hose.

I don't have that. My truck has never had that shut off valve. It instead just connects directly to those steel lines that bolt to the side of the block. They must of added that shut off in 2003 or 2004. The bottom picture (from my earlier post) is similar to my engine bay and doesn't have that valve. But that vacuum line must go somewhere.

Pretty sure my '01 4.0 has that valve. I remember it from my engine swap and reconnecting it. Should have a black 90 degree bend. One side goes to the heater box and the other side goes to a valve on the heater hose above/near the passenger side valve cover. This is going off of memory and I don't currently have my truck near by.

I just looked through all my engine swap pictures and unfortunately nothing shows it clearly.

I'll take a look. At the heater hoses more clearly tomorrow. I have the line plugged with a screw for now.
