Side Rails stick out approximately 24” for Tool Box mounting. Side Rails measure 52.5” for Tool Box Mounting.

Problem with shipping the Rack is the overall size, a box would have to cover it all, it doesn’t weigh a lot but there would be a lot of empty space in a box which I do not have.


It would be nice if it could be just wrapped in flat cardboard but I do not believe any carrier would take it.
If you can find someone that will pick it up as is or with flat cardboard attached let me know and we can work on it.

i shipped a safari bar wrapped in cardboard with ups.

also could look into greyhound, they have limited locations though.

Grey Hound is an option but I would have a one hour drive into Boston to get to the terminal… not sure I want to do that.
UPS picks up so I will call them and see what the requirements are.

North East Coast of MA, above Boston by 40+ miles.
Long road trips can be fun if with the right people but sometimes they are just too long.
Too bad you weren’t taking a summer vaca to New England and you could stop by for a quick pickup.

Right now I am working with a guy to find the best way to ship this thing, he wants it but lives in MD. We are working on two methods, Grey Hound and UPS, time will tell.

I will post the results of the Shipping Cost Findings and the best way for packaging for shipment and even if this guy doesn’t take it, it might help someone out.

 

i think what they told me was that they weren't responsible for damage with packaging like that. but since it was basiczlly a steel bar i wasnt too worried about that. as long as you package it up well, wrap it in foam or bubble wrap or something, stretch cardoard around it, and tape it up.

It was like $60 I think. smaller in size but much heavier than the aluminum (rack is aluminum, right?)

 

I shipped a metal stand like that as well. Wrapped it in cardboard on the ends and put a flat piece on it for the label. Everything was tight and taped on well. Made it across the US with zero damage and only an "odd shaped item" fee. Like $4.

I ws thinking Lumber Stops and a few other accessories but I was going to see if the aluminum is thick enough for threading.
Bolt on accessories and if they get damaged replace easily.

If you want bolt on contact Pro-Tech and see if you can buy them separately and get a good aluminum welder to put them on.
