brake light issues
i noticed last nite that my rear driving lights are always on bright(as is i was braking) and also the 3rd (cab) brake light, when i hit the brakes they get a notch brighter, what caused this and how can it be fixed?
Well it could be on the brake pedal arm. Just follow the arm up. Some vehicles do use a pressure sensor instead of the sensor in the pedal but I don't know which the Ranger uses. To fix it I'd just replace it.

Definitely the brake switch.
They're cheap enough from places like AutoZone... Like someone else said, follow the brake rod until you see the unit.
I'd recommend you buy it first... that way you'll recognize it when you see it. lol
