Bronco II vs 78 f-150

i found me a new mud truck project.. i was planning on keeping my bronco II and building it up with a SAS and a v8 and stuff but a friend of mine has a 78 ford f-150 he is wantin to get rid of for 200 bucks! so this week im strippin all the goodies out of my bronco II and scrapin it. im gonna get my body lift out and all my gauges and lights and switches.. (anything i can use them on my f-150). The f-150 has a 400 modified with a c6 tranny and a D44 front axle with the ford 9" rear... i think it will make me a pretty good mud truck. all the truck needs is some tranny work. but i heard the c6 is a pretty easy tranny to overhaul and to find new ones... what do you all think???

seeing as how it's only $200, why not keep both?

C6 is a good tranny. Better than the C4. Buddy had a Lincoln with a 400M in it. He loved it.

alright guys.. i started workin on this truck the other day. I got the rusty bed ripped off, the gas tank out cause it had a hole in it.. and got my other fuel tank mounted up. i got her runnin too. she runs good. the body lift should be going on soon. I got the new rims and tires on. i put some used 33" all terrains on it for now. i want to get 35's but dont got enough money yet. the next step is pullin the tranny and rebuilding it... and i seen someone asked how big i wanna go, and for now all im going is a 3" body lift and 33's.. unless i find 35's for cheap
