Dual exhaust ideas...

Hey, I have a 2002 Ranger 4.0L and I've been throwing around the idea of getting a new muffler and that got me thinking...why not make it dual exhaust too? I'm pretty much set on a Flowmaster 40 series or 50 series, but thats not the problem. I know this has been on here before (I did a little searching) but I just wanted some more specific questions answered. I don't think I need to make it true dual but if I do, what is the best way to go about this on a budget thats relatively easy to do myself? Otherwise, I was just thinking about a single muffler and just piping it out the rear to make it look good. So how could I go about this then? I guess my questions are: could I just put a split pipe and then use two mufflers? Or if I just used one muffler could I do dual outlet and make it work? Thanks for any help about going about doing this.

Also, what size inlet/outlets and piping do I need?

That's a BOLT on Gibson dual exhaust system. I installed it myself in about an hour. Its very very easy.

most kits are one tube into the muffler, two tubes coming out. Its called a catback system. It keeps the stock y-pipe and cat, everything after it is replaced.
