i was washing my truck the other day and thought what if u could mount a winch inside the trailer hitch, build a mounting plate or something that would make it sit right above the reciver slot but up under the bed where the spare tire is. of course u would have to remove the spare tire and move the license plate, but is this possible? or would it just be a waste of money?

 

it al depends. ive though about it too. weel done it can look great. theres amembmber here with a winch on the rear bumper and it does look BA. theres a gallery somewere i just aint in the mood for searching it.

and if ur gona use it. if its only to mall crawl.... well everythinga wast of money if u dont use it. :P

 

why don't you just mount it in a receiver so this way you can use it in the front or rear hitch .

 

just a pain to keep moving it and all..IMO mount that beast under the bed put the license plate on a track or something where it locks in..

it can be done..just time and money..

 

I have one mounted in my reciever on the rear and it works great. I also pull a trailer to haul cars. and I have a reciever mounted on it to put the winch on to pull cars or whatever up on the trailer and it is just plain cool....

 

That's a damn good idea

 

I have also run a good heavy set of cables from the battery back to the bumper and put a plug on so I can pluc my winch in right at the rear of the truck..
