I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge and i am having a problem. It is an automatic, and when i put the vehicle into park, then try to move it into drive, the shifter is locked and wont move. Even with a firm amount of pressure on the brakes it still wont move. but only when the vehicle is on. When i turn the key slightly on (one click before starting the engine) i can move the shifter but once i turn on the vehicle it wont move. And the problem seems to happen off and on. Yesterday i couldn't get it to move out of park without turning the vehicle off and putting it into N, but this morning it works just fine. Could it be a sensor going out?
