Tranny fluid
Tranny fluid
I have a 98 manual tranny. Im almost positive theres some kind of transmission/hydraulic fluid in there. Im also sure its never been changed. I want to change it and can see where to drain it but how in the world do I refill it? People told me to look for what looks like a fatter oil dipstick but I cant find one. Theres no like nothing. Is there even a way to change it?\
Edit: Also someone told me that some B series take standard engine oil?

Ahh I didn't see that when I saw the drain because it was mud encrusted. haha. Thank you very much. About how much does it hold? Looks like a royal pain to get the fluid into that? Any trick to make it easier?
i use a suction gun to put the fluid in. remove the cap and fill it, then push the fluid in...takes like 3.25 qts

they sell pumps that screw into the top of transmission fluid bottles with a hose on the end. there pretty cheap and auto zone might have them, thats just what we use at work. ...i cant remember how much it takes exactly to fill i just know you fill it until the top fill plug starts to overflow
I took the top off of a gear oil bottle (its shaped into a funnel at the end) and that worked perfect. I am also body lifted so I have a little more room to work. Ya, its just the Mercon V auto tranny fluid like Justin said.
