V8 Swap on Trucks! on Spike TV
Trucks! - Homepage | PowerblockTV
I was browsing through the tv guide and came across a V8 swap on a 2001 Mazda pickup that will be coming on today at noon (atleast on the east coast) on Spike TV. The website link above makes it look like it will be a couple part series. Thought you guys might be intereseted in checking it out if you didn't already know about it. It might have been on yesterday at noon too so you might have caught it then.

that is the sub forum for the build over on TRS, kevin said that this build will take most of the 2010 season, and they are going to cover more than just an engine swap

why did they use a mazda instead of a ranger? from the first link, they wanted a new "mini lighting" why not do like ford and use the ranger. wasnt there another thread out there that was made last week?
cuz mazdas are awsome.
exactly, plus the mazdas and rangers are the same platform, so if they really wanted to they could put a ranger front clip on
they did get it for a good deal, i sold my 01 for $4K, and i looked on craigslist, and can't find anything that new for what they paid for that truck
The '98-up 2wd with coil springs has a wider frame up front (about 4") and the rack-n-pinion steering. It's what makes this swap possible.
Come on over and I'll take you for a ride.
I didn't mean to disrespect anyone with a mod motor, they are just not my thing. I'll take a good 'ol pushrod motor anyday.
Resulting truck / engine combo will be too heavy in the front and too light in the back.
In other words, too loose, not a good plan, typical of these types of programs, listen carefully at the begining and they go over the bad points but do it anyway.
Don't follow these programs, they are worse than the magazines for correct info and training, and they have more commercials.
