Will adding a 3 inch body lift void my factory warranty?

 

yes and so will the 33s you put on

 

It will void what it affects. The BL shouldn't affect anything, the bigger tires it allows you to put on will. It really depends on the dealer though, some places ignore modifications and others don't.

 

my dealer complained about my muffler and stereo, but also told me the 31s werent stock and that voided it too, so best thing to do would be read your contracts from the dealer

 

Fx4 level ii's come stock with 31's...

 

Best thing is go ask the Service Manager or Service Director and get it in writing if he says it doesent void it

 

^^Yup....it's really up to the dealer. Marie has had her truck in plenty of times for warranty work after the bodylift on her '08 w/ 33's. Hell...even got a clutch and slave replaced like 100miles before the warranty was up.

Then again, there's other dealers that if there's ANY mod on it, they won't honor it. I lent out my stock 31" wheels and tires to a guy who was running 32's because the service dept at his local dealer said the 32's caused the tcase to whine. BS. Like I said and like everyone's said, it depends on the dealer's service manager/department.

 

when i first got my truck,i had a warranty on it,free oil changes ,it took them almost a year to tell me since i went off roading/muddin in it, that my warranty was no longer in affect ,so i would make sure if you wanna keep your warranty to call them before any mods

No aftermarket part or accessory that is properly installed on your vehicle will entirely void your original vehicle manufacturers warranty. According to the provisions in the Magnuson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act, It is the dealership's responsibility to prove that your modification directly caused or affected the failure you are trying to resolve. With that said, some dealerships are more performance-oriented than others and are more willing to work with customers.

Warranty-related materials, published by the new vehicle manufacturers, state that the installation of aftermarket parts have no effect on the warranty unless such equipment causes the problem that leads to the warranty claim. Nonetheless, some dealers have improperly denied warranty claims even though the claim had nothing to do with aftermarket parts. I.E., just because you install an exhaust system, your suspension failure warranty claim cannot be denied. If you experience a problem with an uncooperative dealership, point out the provisions of the this "FEDERAL ACT". No problem, I've had dealerships try and say warranty void on the tranny because I have oversized tires. ( Funny that the newer stock tires were larger than what I was running) I try and keep them honest when I can...
