Cost of a new bed?

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the cost of a brand new bed for an 08 ranger would cost. I got in an accident friday, and am fighting to get my truck written off, the resale value for them is listed as 12-14k, and my damage estimate is already up to 8gs to fix, and thats assuming nothing goes wrong, and the bed can be salvaged, and just have the floor replaced, which is not the case. and thats no engine work either. I'm just wondering if someone can help me out of the cost of a new bed from ford, If you know the price in canada too that'd help, but even the price in the states would help me out (i can just add about a third to the price and that usually seems right hah) thanks guys!

insurance companys will rarely get a new bed for trucks...what they will usually do is write on the estimate to get one of of a junkyard and repaint it...its cheaper but you also have to factor the labor in that might just be enough to write it off

honestly, you can get beds here in the states for under grand....generally 500 even. Some are even brand new take-off's. Then a reshoot. Shops really eat insurance company's money..... They'll likely salvage the bed and make it cost 3 times the cost of getting a used bed and reshooting it. My old truck got ***-plowed and it looked 5 times as worse than your damage and the total was up in the 5's and the shop did a really sh1tty job on the fix. They cut and spliced in areas of it....and it's still not perfect. They thought they could use bedliner as a glue for bedliner.

Cost of new bed from ford.......... You better just scrap the truck. That's an asinine number for sure. Go used from a local yard.

i just went through this my repair was about 18,000 and they wouldn't buy a new truck they just replace panels on the bed and weld it by hand ti looks like crap but that's all they do my truck was an 09 so I'm not sure if they would pull a bed out of the scrap yard for your 08 or grab replacement parts. on top of that i received a letter form my insurance that they wont be re-insuring me at the end of this term.
