air horn on a ranger

has anyone installed a semi air horn on their truck,I really want a horn that will wake up the guy in front of me sleeping at the light, the sound so loud like a semi truck the kind that would make the listner spill his coffee,
I understand a compressor would be needed ,how big and where would be the best location,I have a proffessional wire guy that will install, just curious if anyone else has sucessfully done this ,?

Trepaul86 and Fx4wannabe01 both had setups with the Grover semi horns at one point.

Theres a ton of threads on here, try searching for train horns also, you should pull up more than enough info on it.

I have 26"/29" Hadleys in my truck. They are sideways in my toolbox coming out of holes I cut in the side.

Here's an old picture:

TrePaul86 now has train horns. two 5? gallon tanks in the tool box (may be 10 gallon) and a 3-horn train horn mounted where the spare would be

plastic air horns

Installed mine in the engine compartment. Easy to install. Most chain auto parts stores carry them.
Got em at Harbor Freight. They have others too.
Kit comes with everything, Compressor draws 30a or so. .
Ran a separate button inside, attached to the floor shift lever.
That's for quick access if one has to downshift quickly at the same time..
Coffee spill loud. Gets those suvs to snap back into their lane pronto, every time.
Hopefully has caused a dropped cellphone too.
Original compressor rusted out. Just bought another kit. Air horns= a must have.

Yea I got a Dixie air horn. Just a cheapy autozone thing. It's pretty nice and it does scare people because it's so loud. But if u want a complete train horn package deal go to hornblasters.com that's where I'm getting my train horn soon

Wow. I will make sure i am in my lane if i see your truck.
Back in the 60's, went to grade school at 13/gratiot. Always loved to get big trucks to honk.

Wire a remote horn switch to easily find your truck at Lakeside or the Macomb Mall.
Bonus: Horn blast to set off all the car alarms in the lots like a good Harley does.

I also added a bac-alarm with a dash switch. Better safe than sorry.
Kids know what it is and go on alert (intended). Adults get confused by it.

Yeah this sound like a fairly good setup, I would like a larger tank, and I dont know if the add says metal horns or plastic.
