Thats actually not too bad considering they will probably negotiate down to 12k if someone waves the cash in their face. Ive seen dealerships buy cars for 8k trade in and turn around and sell it for 13k-13.5k

haha gotta love dealers. they gave me 4k for my zx2. drove by 2(yes 2!) hours later to find it was in the lot already for 5800 lol. i know they didn't need to clean it because im a neat freak but i am fairly positive they are supposed to inspect everything!! haha SOB's! it was gone 2 days later

13.9 seems decent though for 55k on the clock and all the extras. thats what most of them here in oregon go for

Yep, It's sad but true.
Those salesman are some major blood suckers.
I went to CARMAX about 18 months ago when my truck was worth $13,500 and they offered me $9500 for it. I just laghed and walked out of there.

That price doesn't seem terrible.

And of course the dealers are going to offer you a low price, then try and sell it for KBB or a bit higher. They are there to make money.

Exactly, I don't see why that is such a big deal here. Basically every single item you buy at any store has gone through the same thing. A lot of items have a bigger markup than cars do if you actually break it down and look at it.

Yeah, I was just thinking them. Even if they get 13 or 14 for it that is still pretty low profit margins for a dealership.

I am surprised they gave you 10 in the first place.

Yep.

X=Product

Price to manufacture and ship 'X' per unit: $1

Price for distributor of 'X' per unit: $2.50

Price that you pay for 'X' when on sale: $4

Everybody wins. It's called the economy.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say there's some salesman on the forums ... either that or everyone is playing devil's advocate here ...lol
Trust me, I know a thing or two about a thing or two. They're not there just to make money. They're there to rape a few people along the way too.

I have a question! So they called me today *****ing and moaning that the screen i had in it was taken out... a week later!

The whole story is i brought it by the day before to check out the car and test drive it. While i was doing that they took a look at my car to give me a appraisal. When I got back from the drive they asked me about my truck and when the asked me about my screen i told the guy no im keeping it. Well the next day i took it out and put the stock unit back in and went to go do the trade, during this trade they made no attempt to further look at my truck so everything got signed and I went on my way.

And now a week later theyr complaining I need to bring them the headunit or pay them 350$ or theyr going to "cancel" the deal. Do they have any right whatsoever legaly to go after me?

if its all signed, for once its on them..unless they have proof of saying you were giving it back or taking it along...might want to go over your paperwork...tell them they are selling for 3900 more they will be alright

I'm by no means a legal professional, but I would think that since there was no legal document stating that the screen was included in the deal and since the papers have been signed that they couldn't do anything.

Yeah, this is not the place to be asking for legalities.

The person that did the appraisal probably didn't get the message that the screen was being removed. Unless you can prove you told them that you did it sounds like your sol. But I'd still get advice from someone that knows what they're talking about.

I highly doubt they will sure you for that screen. Don't worry about it. Explain what happened. Be reasonable but tell them they are getting the screen and the deal is signed for and done. One day and a dollar short.

I would jump at the chance to cancel the deal, they would be the ones loosing and they know it too ... they're bluffing to get $350 out of you.
I know what kind of hell it is dealing with a stealership, that's exactly why I'm not trading my truck in for one that has a 4.0 in it.

Dont tell them over the phone that you are canceling the deal...Dont give them time to tamper under your hood.
