What are the chances...
Has anyone ever heard of a college program, similar to a tractor pull team, that designs, builds, and races a trophy truck? I am interested in trying to get this started at CSU Chico. Thoughts? help?

One thing we don't have is a trophy truck, that would be sweet
I am looking to incorporate many different clubs, organizations, and majors in the project of the truck ( i.e. Computer graphics for truck graphics and design, Ag. Mech for welding, Math for calculations...etc)
I don't know much about the trophy truck idea (which sounds pretty cool) but the Society of Automotive Engineers builds a Baja Bug and I work on the Eco-Car team at LA Tech. The Eco-Car team is very diverse and everything runs very smoothly as far as completing each aspect of the design and fabrication of the car. If you really want to get something started at your school for a trophy truck then I would strongly encourage you to go for it! Talk with some of your professors to see if they can give you any info as far as competitions are concerned and they may be able to help organize a team.
