ok, so a lot of you know I am deploying to afghanistan next year.. Ill be making enough to pay off ALL my debt including the truck and still have a little money left over..

Im not sure what i want to do though.. Should i go ahead and pay the truck completely off, or just make double payments on it and bring it down to say 9k or something? Im totally torn on whether i want to keep it when i get back or trade it in on something else.. Im REALLY liking the 2011 SCREW Raptor!! or maybe even a new Heep.

Another question.. My truck has been in an accident, but only minor damage was done, i think it was around 3500 tops worth of damage, the fender, bumper and light had to be replaced and that was it.. So how much do you think that will diminish the value of the truck on say a trade in bases?

yeah, i plan on having around 8-10K in the bank when i get, and have ZERO debt.. so ill have the truck to trade in if i so choose.. the new SCREW raptor is ****.. and by the time i come home and get settled back in the 12' models will be out so the 11' models will be even less haha

 

see if you pay the truck off, you can keep it, save a down payment and have both trucks--so its win win

 

excpet i most likely cant afford insurance for two trucks and why would i need to trucks! lmao but i like the idea!! hmmm... lol im just looking at the fact i can most likely take atleast 10K off the price of the raptor if i trade my f150 in

 

You don't need to insure both trucks nor fully insure them. I'm kinda surprised you can afford a raptor on Army wages, don't they cost about 40 grand or somethin? Won't you instead be looking at purchasing a house?

 

well considering im making almost 40K on this deployment.. and the AIR FORCE 9not army:) ) gives me BAH(housing allowance) every month, i dont really need to worry about a house payment..

for instance right now im stationed at Hurlburt field, florida.. the air force pays me an extra $914 a month for rent/ mortgage, and $312/month for food. once i get back i will have NO debt so i will have my entire base pay to do whatever i want with- roughly $2100/month.. also all these numbers will go up since i will be putting on SSgt(e5) shortly after i get back..

 

Do you want to keep your current truck and have no payments or do you want to get the raptor and still have payments? Just something you gotta figure out

 

IMO, the Raptor is nice, but overpriced. I'd rather have the 05 or 06 F150 myself. My favorite F150 by far. Then you could mod the hell out of it and have one heck of a nice truck for probably half the dime of the Raptor

 

He has a 05 F150 FX4 already haha

I think this would surpass the Raptor, throw lockers in front and rear with a supercharger. Funnnnn

i think so too trent! so keep your truck and do the above with some nice wheels and tires and you still come out on the better end of the deal with alot less money. You might not get a 6.2, but im sure the 5.4 is plenty

yeah the 5.4 has some power, but im pretty worried about the whole knocking issue with the 04-05 5.4's.. i dont think mine has gotten it yet, but i will know in two weeks when i am home..
