I have a 2008 automatic ford ranger, with a 3.0l engine and with about 45,000 kms on it and it seems to have a rough shift from first to seconde gear? I wonder is this normal? I hit about 20 kms and it shift from first to seconde, but the shift is abrupt, and kinda almost softly shakes the whole vechicle. I told my mechanic and he said that with low kms like mine has a tranny issue is very unlikely? any help would be appreciated!

 

check the fluid. maybe a bad sensor or torque converter.

 

screw that. bring it in should still be under warrenty.

 

technical service bulletin is out for it

tell service guy to check the ford u.s website for the TSB update program

ford .ca does not list it

my tranny had the same issues until i had the update

Cheese man, what kind of ranger do you have and what exactly is a tranny program update and how much does it cost?

is just a PCM reflash for a 1st to 2nd shift shudder...call the dealer they will know what you mean,,,just say its a TSB for the 1st to 2nd shift shudder

 

it is also for the reverse shudder as well

the update is on the u.s website not the cdn 1
