It doesn't take much, some cables are just weak.

your kidding?! We loaded up a 800lb dixie narco pop machine leaned it against the tailgate and had a bunch of people lift and slide er in. Unless the thing is rotted or work hardened from open close open close, or someone kinked it thus weakening the structure..... i don't get it.

One of mine broke with less than 200lbs on it, granted the guy hopped on it. But still the impluse wouldn't be that much more

Yah that might be it, they might've been rotted, doesn't really matter..

All that matters is pic

Cables from what I recall were in good shape. I never had any problems with them the 2 years I had the tailgate.

It's not that bad but it's still a dent where there wasn't one before. Just pisses me off the first time I get in the bed after the swap and snap!!

I'm about 200 lbs and jumped to sit up on the tailgate so I can get in this tall *** thing like I've done a 1000 times.

Funny thing is I was talking with Mike about swapping the cables but didn't bring a torx bit. I had fairly new autozone cables on mine because I had one break in the past.

I'll get a pic after work.
