Venting, n Blowing Off Some Steam

So tonite im on my way to work, on some kinda crappy back roads where there is still someice, go around a sharp corner n the damn car is in my lane. They try to react but i can see their front wheels locked n stll sliding straight towards me. Im goinglike 45 n with being lifted i was going to just destroy them hitting head on. Luckily I stayed calm n it was either hit them head on or hit the ditch. I luckily stayed calm n was able to skid sideways off the road barely between a concrete mailbox n a huge tree n go flying up into the persons yard sideways n take out a small tree. Then acourse the person didnt stop or come make sure I was ok. I was able to finally get out in 4wd n the truck only suffered a dent under the driver door n a cracked driver side mirror. but really wtf they couldnt stop!!!! thank god i didnt panic n stayed calm n was able to pull some GT5 **** n drift sideways barely between those 2 things ormy truck woulda been destroyed. Also I take it that im going to have to replace the whole mirror, cant just replace the glass? n if anyone has or sees a 06+ black mirror let me know.

I would have loved to man but it was snowy, icy, n dark. I was stuck in that persons yard to 2wd, had to use 4wd just to get back on the persons driveway n then got out n checked the truck. Theres no way I could have chased them even without all the snow n ice cause they were long around the corner n gone by the time all this had happened you know. The only thing im really mad about is my damn mirror, that side view mirror aint easy to find cheap

there are replacement glass kits out there for the mirrors. you can get a black 06 mirror for like 50 bucks on ebay though. glass kits run you about 30.. I think id want to get a whole new mirror. Ive never trusted the replacement glass.

sorry OP dont mean to jack your thread but i do have one more story....walked outta my house one day to get in my truck and these youngins that live down the road from me, thought i'd be funny to shoot a bottle rocket out the back of his jacked up 4-runner at me.well it went off a ft from my face.....raced in my truck tracked them back down (they didnt think i would follow) onto a back country road and they got scared and took off through a freshly plowed WET field. i guess he didnt have time to lock into 4wd..got about 50yrds out and got stuck. they got out trying to laugh it off and asked me to pull them out, and i said, sure lemme turn my truck around...turned around and kept goin!! he later stopped by my house and appolgized...found out he got a ticket because the owner of the property caught him out there and had to pull him out with his tractor.....priceless!! end thrad jack!!

That blows. People are inconsiderate sometimes. Too bad there weren't witnesses... you could have filed a police report stating that they caused the accident and then they fled the scene.

Oh well... at least you got out of the situation without getting hurt. A truck can be fixed/replaced... you can't.

yeah i agree people are extreemly inconsiderate,t ractor trailors pulling out in front of you when its pooring down rain, people riding your *** when its snowing, or driving 15 miles under the speed limit and braking eratically, or my favorite passing on a two lane road right before a sharp turn then slamming on the brakes and throwing stones up on you because they almost hit you when they sped around a truck turning left and i was crossing, man people are just fun aint they

Hey I have a 1999 style driver side power mirror with the plastic broken.....mirror is fine. You can have the mirror just pay for shipping if it will fit your vehicle. What year is your truck?
