Hydraulic Body Mounts
Hydraulic Body Mounts
As we all the know the Ranger rides like poop, I was thinking of an interesting way to combat it. I have been seeing commercials for the 2010-2011 GMC (hisss) Sierra 2500HD comes with hydraulic body mounts. Here's a an articles if you are not familiar.
Application of Hydraulic Body Mounts to Reduce the Freeway Hop Shake of Pickup Trucks
I guess Dodge has them also. Apparently they directly replace the "puck" style bushings. Obviously there is no direct fit size to the Ranger but it could probably be done relatively easily. Maybe if you had a 3 inch BL you could use the B" parts except the bolts and spacers in the cab section to fit in the "shock". This would provide more room to fit the mounts.
I think it's an interesting concept, finding the mounts or having them made would be the hardest part.

Interesting. Too bad it will never happen on a ranger, nor will someone take the time for ride quality. You want ride quality? Sell it and buy a Toyota Camry.
As far as being "relatively easy", keep dreamin bud...

LOL as if his truck isn't bad enough, but im just saying, i dont think anyone in there right mind is going to waste the time/money to do this on a ranger...
Its a cool idea and if someone did it, id prolly buy it but again like stated most aren't going to take the time to try it. But like I said if someone pulled it off, id buy it from them and make it worth there while.
Oh this explains it, thank you for clarifying that for me lol. Anyhow i was informed he actually replaced his body mounts?
the ranger doesnt ride toooo bad but it sure dont ride great either but it really just depends on your setup and the roads around you. When im on good roads the ride aint to bad, but around me there are alot of ****ty roads so add that in with my unevenly worn tires, cranked t bars, and the truck being so light and bouncing around its awful lol.
Really? My truck rides like ****.
Of all the cars in the world to use as a ride quality analogy....a Camry.....wow...I puked in my mouth a little..
