gaint motorsports 4x4 long travel kit

I have been looking for suspension for my new project which is going to be a 93 4x4, i live in so. cal and found a company called Gaint Motorsports, they offer a front Dana 44 long conversion kit for $3995 which includes Bolt on Beam pivots, Bolt on coil over engine cage/shock mounts, 2.5” King coil shocks, lower shock mounts, steering extensions, drop pitmen arm, limit straps, brake lines, bump stops, gussets for each beam, bolt on skid plate, Hiemed radius arms and radius arm frame mounts. This kit provides up to 18in of travel. Anyone know of these guys or are running there set up? Any info or ideas would be nice. Next post will be about the Daily Driver Link kit they sell.

Giant kits are good. Yes and that sounds like a pretty solid deal as well.

giant is second to none really if you have the moneys. as good or better then camburg, they're one of the first to offer cantilever set ups, and their 64" link killer set up is considered to be one of the best ways to retain leaf springs on a truck. that said i think youll be closer to 16" travel up front if your just looking to bolt the kit on, although since its ttb the potential to pull a few more inches out of it is there.

if you check out dezert rangers.com youll find alot of people running giant products with opinions to give you.

Ok talked to the guys at Giant Motorsports and they said they can get the Dana 44 for around $600 bucks, or I can find it at a junk yard and have it rebuilt, I am leaning towards the junk yard. Also the labor for them to install and adjust is $2300. I would rather do it my self, the kit says it is easy bolt on so does any know if there is cutting, welding or is it realy just a bolt on Kit. Also any thoughts on the switch to the Dana 44, is it hard to install, alot of fabrication? Any thing will help. Thanx

i dont know anyone personally running giants full 44 kit up front or they're link system out back(most people taking it that far just drop the truck off at a shop). on giants website they say the crossmember needs to be cut down in the back to clear the new brace, and they show a random gusset plate that would need to be welded, everything else looks drilled to bolt on. if your going to go LT and keep 4x4 swapping out the d35 or worse if you have a d28 is a must. adjusting the setup is the most critical part an untuned link truck will get blown away by a truck on leafs with proper valved shocks, if its not done right then no amount of money you spend will amount to anything besides a horrible handling truck. thats not saying you cant adjust them yourself with out paying giant to do it, read up on how to revalve and take your time and you should come out all right and youll have a whole new understanding of your truck in the dirt.

Thanks for the advise "mike hunt" (haha i like it) i am not in any hurry at all, this is still in the planing stage of my project. I started this project knowing nothing about this topic and each day I learn more and more. I am the type that cant stand paying someone else to work on my project for me so I will forsure look into the proper tuning of the shocks. And i thought the same about the cutting and welding but if that is all it is it should be no problem. Thanx again for the advise. I am forsure going with the Dana 44.
