Finally got to give big white a good scrub down after the long winter season as well as give her some new brakes all around. Hawk LTS pads and NAPA premium rotors. The big girl stops on a dime now.
out with the old crappy burned up brakes..

in with the new!
4 wheel disc brakes FTMFW!!

clean!

and the "Tuff Truck Bag" im testing and reviewing for the Tuff Truck Bag company. pretty cool product.

and a couple randoms of my ranger from yesterday. my nephew wanted to go wheelin in the "monster truck" so we messed around on his dads friends dirt hills for a bit.

yeah i hated mine too. they stopped ok but i had a warped rotor and the dust was terrible. ive got the same Hawk LTS pads on my ranger and they are awesome. low dust too. i got them from a vendor on the F-150 site for a good deal.
I'll be getting ahold of you in a few weeks to see how they hold up and how the brake dust is compared to the stockers. I'll probably need brakes by the end of the year. What vendor did you get them from? I'll have to get ahold of him.

ive got just over 10,000 miles on the Hawk pads on my ranger and they are holding up great, especially with the added strain of the 33's and the off roading done in that truck. the brake dust has been much lower than the OEM's that the ranger had on it. id expect them to perform the same on the F-150, i hope. lol

its got a programmer and an LED third brake light, oh and weathertech floor mats. is that anything? lol no big mods in store for this truck except for maybe an exhaust system and i might do the "GOTTs" mod. i love the way the truck performs and handles as is so i dont want to mess that up.
Lookin good! I just did a set of brakes on my Grandpas '08 fiddy. his were pretty toast, thought i might have inhaled some nice dust, I have no idea what i put on there, i think EBC? we'll see how those work out.

thanks fella's. brakes actually didnt cost too much, ive got just over $300 in all. i get a discount at NAPA so i got a deal on the rotors.
thanks man! my brakes were toast too, the fronts had a little meat left on them but the rears had maybe another 1000 miles on them. the pad material was heat damaged and cracking and flaking off. gotta have good brakes for when i start hauling our new baby around when she comes! lol

mileage is just under 70,000 right now and after seeing the condition of them i wouldnt be surprised if they were the stock pads.
ouch! i guess i did get a deal. lol i do have to say though, this was one of the easiest brake jobs ive ever done, gotta love 4 wheel disc brakes! ha ha

His was around 64K miles. The fronts we're worse than the backs on his for some reason, but cause of all the up north traveling and driving in sand and what not, i had to use like 2 cans of Parts and Brake cleaner.
as far as the sig goes, Taylor was upset, but i like to keep the quote fresh and killing things with Fire is right up my alley.

Nice man. I'm ready to change mine, it feels like it stops terribly to me. Dealership replaced them at 46k when I bought it and I'm at 78k now. I get like no dust but the brakes aren't impressive at all. Could be the style wheel I have doesn't attract as much dust as the FX4 one too, not sure.
Oh well thats pretty cool. Id honestly love to have a topper, but I cant justify that much money for a new one, or unless you get super lucky and find a good one on craigslist thats fits ours and is in good shape and even then usually you still got to paint it still. Wish I made good money, in due time I guess.
