Truck Restoration - Advice
Truck Restoration - Advice
This week a friend of mine came up with this deal (Pictures attached) he said that the engine actually works, I´m being asked for $4,200 USD for this 1924 Flatbed Ford.
Does anyone with experience in restoration can give me an aproximate of how much I will need to invest to bring this beast to life?
- Engine parts: Complete & Starts
- Transmission parts: Complete
- Axle partes: Front complete, rear diff cap missing
- Interiors Need carpeting
- Pain: Bad condition
Let the expertise do the talk !!

A mild restoration will run you at least 10K
A full restoration could see 20K depending on who you know and what you can do yourself
You could do it well enough for a daily driver for around 5-7K
Paint is expensive and its worse if someone else will have to do the body work too
I don't even know if they make rebuild kits for that rear axle anymore

$3K for paint, min, if you want a good job.
$90-100/hr for body work.
One pint of RED matching paint for my truck is $125 so paint alone is going to be $400.
Getting part mostly from the US, shipping will kill you.
It would be nice to drive that thing all fixed up but you need to determine if the price is worth the trip.
Good Luck...
