Oil Dipstick pipe came out - what do I do now

Oil Dipstick pipe came out - what do I do now
I have 99 Ranger XLT 3.0 V6 Flex.
I noticed that the pipe which houses the Engine Oil Dipstick is loose and the whole thing comes out. When I try to push that back in, the Dipstick seems kind of getting stuck at a point and does not go all the way in.
Any ideas what is wrong and what I should do?
