Started my RP Caster install

well..the RP caster kit arrived the other day so I figured I should start ripping into the truck.

Progress so far....I did get hung up on the main fuel line into the fuel rail though. The adapter that Ron sent in the kit was about 5 sizes to big and there is no way that it was going to fit. Went down to the local fitting shop and had them make me up a piece that worked pretty slick. The 6' An line to the main fuel line and the fuel block was also way to short....luckily I had some braided line that was the right length...no an fittings though

And I picked up a canopy for the truck last week.... doesn't really belong in this forum, but whatever

Thanks...so far roughly about $2450 CDN
the kit was $1700 shipped
Ebay eaton M-90 $400 shipped
$200 duty for both...thank you Canada Customs
Autometer boost gauge and pillar mount $100
Misc odds and ends $50

The price of a complete rebuild after it goes BOOM...hard to say

Well I didn't get as much don on the long weekend as I would have hoped...but some progress made over the weekend and a little more tonight. This project is becoming a slight pain in the ***...hopefully it's worth it in the end.

Basically down to the intake tubing, the belt and finishing up a couple of small details

Pics from the weekend

The Fuel damper on my truck is completely different that the earlier trucks this kit was designed for..made for a little head scratching originally

The bracket for the coil pack is smack in the middle of where the EGR valve gets relocated...hack time with the dremel...hated to do that

Tonight's progress...got the EGR stuff sorted out and fought with the intake...need a larger diameter silicone hose for the TB...took a heat gun to the hose and there is no way I'm going to get it to stretch over the TB...might have lost some finger prints along the way

The plug wires are going to be awfully close to the EGR valve...not sure that I have any option though

You may want to get some heat wrap or something similar on there to protect the wires!

It's coming along great man! Seems like no matter how "bolt on" something is supposed to be there is always some tweaking required. Do you have any plans for tuning?

Why are you even keeping the EGR still? Since your truck will have a tune for the blower, they'll be able to disable the EGR. All you should need to do is make a simple block off plate out of some metal for the upper piece, and then plug the little bung in the manifold.

If he's in Ontario it's probably because certain parts of the province are VERY strick on emissions systems.

Looks great though!

Well...my tuning plans hit a slight hitch...the local dyno guys can't plug directly into the obd on the ranger, a full size no problem. That means I need a handheld and the licence to unlock it for custom tuning? Not sure on the licencing issues

Honestly never even thought about ditching the EGR

Out in BC on an Island

Picked up a fan belt the other night and it was too long...returned it today and picked up one that is now a touch to short..the parts guy is going to know I'm completely retarded when I go back for the third try

And after getting it all buttoned up I sprang a fuel leak... disassembled on Friday and had it all back together Sunday, that blue RTV silicon grips like concrete

Fired the truck up tonight and took it for a spin to get some 91 octane in it. So far so good

why didnt you just use some string and make a "belt" so you would have just had to make one trip?

Good Idea.... I had it measured at roughly 107... I kept trying different belts from Napa that were supposed to be in the 106-108 range and none of them fit, the Napa 106.5 was shorter than the Dayco 106.5 from Lordco that fit...
