i have a 2003 ford ranger edge with a 3.0v6 in it, the truck has just flipped to 62k miles. im looking to do some mods to the engine, maybe a intake and exhaust for now. i just dont know what intake to throw up there or which exhaust would sound good on it. because i do not want it to sound like a pissed off bee...

ive looked on ebay for some intakes but ive only seen some for the 4.0 trucks and ive heard that some 40 series flowmasters would do the trick. So comparing to all the mods that you all have done what is best for the intake and exhaust?? i was thinking of doing that air box mod, but i want some shinny under the hood ideas anyone?


what ive done so far is

INTERIOR:

the arm rest, air bag panel, radio surround and the window/door lock panels are painted. neons in the floor board, pioneer 4200dvd double din, and 0 gauge amplifer kit, cb/pa kit, quantum audio tweeters


EXTERIOR: wheel well neons, billet bumper grille, (top to come soon) 6k hid headlights, 30k hid foglights, pa horn, and black vinyl tinted tailights

 

The only thing worth doing is a screaming demon coilpack and wires. anything else motor wise is pointless on a ranger (unless you drop a 5.0 under the hood).

 

Underdrive crank pulley and electric fan would be a good start.

 

im looking at some with good power i know ranger isnt the best for it but thats what i can afford to fix up for now. i also have another one that will get a turbo soon but its soon to come as im driving the 3.0v6 and i use it for work (hauling junk cars) i just need some gain
