Interior light off when doors open.
Interior light off when doors open.
OK I have looked at every how to on a few different sites. I have even checked online. Google/Yahoo. I am trying to find a way to have the interior light/dome light to stay off when I want it too. almost like clicking the dome light on in the cab with the doors shut, but the exact opposite. Just off when I open the door when I want. Not all the time. lol Help me out if you can.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.
My 2002 Toyota Tacoma has the dome light with an on-off auto switch mounted in it.
Maybe you can pick one up at a junk yard cheep and replace the light unit you have in there now.
note
Both my Taco and Ranger are ext cabs with the light mounted in the center of the roof.

Got thinking a little more after my third cup of coffee and remembered something.
The old Mack truck cabs on the R models had the light that mounted over the rear window and had a built-in toggle switch to turn it on. Not sure if the newer ones do. That would work for a single cab Ranger. Maybe check out a big truck jy.

Send “rwenzing” a PM, if anyone can help you it will be Bob.
He’s good !
If you just want a sw quick and easy find the wire from the light put a sw in or find a light with a sw and mount it up.
If you want to eliminate the light and the buzzer, sometimes you want the door open without the light, then contact Bob.
He has a Buzzer Elimination Thread in the How-To’s but I can’t find anything on the Lights.
luck and post what ever you do.
