Went to put something in my bed this morning and my buddy thought he would be funny and slam my door, the doors are locked my keys are still in it and my spare key that i had under the truck probly in a mud hole somewhere...
its a 94 with power locks
I have a sliding glass window , i remember we use to be able to get into my dads ranger that way but he may have had a different latch but that was quite a few years ago

 

sounds like your buddy needs to pay for a locksmith

Well I'd tell ya how to do it but they don't like us for some reason sharing that info. Best try and proxy then at school to get on youtube.

do that antenna trick, un screw your antenna, lift up your door handle slide it in the right slot and feel for a lever and push it to the right, it will pop the lock, may take a few minutes

 

would it be better to use a coat hanger if i can get ahold of one? ive also got a flat head screwdriver i had laing in my bed

 

Try the antenna trick. If you cant get that to work use a coat hanger.

 

It won't help you get in this time... but you should keep a spare key in your wallet. Saved me a couple times already!

 

antenna is super easy. when you get home get the appropriate wrench and duct tape it somewhere outside the truck hidden and super secure

ya im hoping i can pop it when i go out after this period, i did have a spare under the truck but i didnt think about it staying put through the abuse i put it through wheeling... making another spare and keeping it in my wallet and possibly zip tie another under the truck

 

use a shoestring... tie a knot in it so that it can be tightened by pulling on the ends of the string... work the string into the door by tucking it into the panel gap at the top rear corner of the door, then work it down until the loop in the knot is around the lock rod thingy, tighten it, then pull up on the string, hopefully unlocking the door... saw it on youtube...

 

The inside of the gas door is a good spot, and convenient. I keep a small adjustable one, so it's more useful. It's saved me a few times now, not to mention I get to see a small shiny tool every time I fill up.

 

I've gotten into my company's work trucks (Rangers) in less than 5 seconds once the antenna was off... Simple as pie.

 

I always need to look in the mirror to see one of those.

 

That works for a house door not an auto door.

I did try this method when my battery died but I couldnt get it to work properly. For sothe reason the keys weren't turning. Finnally turned though.

Funny stuff for me to share, my ranger seems to have a mind of his own. He is also a practical joker, there have been more than one occasion that my truck has locked itself with the keys inside, running even!! Anytime it gets below 25 degrees or so, i have to roll down one of the windows while scraping the windshield. I have gotten caught on the outside more than once scaping away when i hear the door locks click. I have zip tied a key behind the license plate so its pretty secure. My truck has a PATS key with a chip in it, so the one tha i have under there won't start the truck, but it will open the door. Lesson learned from walking a mile home for a second key, and a mile back to the gas station to get my truck, cold winter morning, truck running at the pump yet. :-)

 

So easy to break into these trucks it's ridiculous. Done it 2 different ways in mine lol. But a wire hanger has worked in the rear slider for me before..

 

seriously...i got into my truck and when i got home the other night i took my door panel off to see the mechanics of it, im almost upset about how easy it is to get into our trucks, my friends(with rangers) were mindblown when i showed them i could get into there trucks withing 2 seconds, anyone have aftermarket security on there trucks? im not too worried now due to the fact i live in a nice neighborhood have a big ugly dog and other security i dont need to mention on here but next year might not be the same case when i go off to college

 

on my last truck i welded metal plate so the antenna trick would no longer work

doing the same on the next one too. I have AAA and i could always call the police if i lock my key in my truck so i don't care for the access hole.

 

ha i was about to get a campus officer to help me the other day but then i remembered i have empty dip cans taped down supporting my armrest so it doesnt collapse on my center console and tobacco is a no-no on school grounds

I tried to get info about the antenna trick on here a couple yrs ago. No one would tell me. I did find the video on utube, it show a guy doing it but doesnt go into details, I ended up paying 85. bucks to get my keys.
