I have a 1994 ranger single cab 2wd and I want to put a straight axle in it but I don't know what axles to buy! Any ideas ?

 

there are too many variables here still. What are you looking to do with the truck?
what engine do you have? are you going to keep that engine?

 

I would suggest doing a lot of reading. If you don't know what axle to buy you probably don't have the know how to do an SAS anyway. Read a lot and then read a lot more.

 

@ Adam I am personally doin the checking for a friend of mine he knows more than me about it but me and another good friend of mine are building it as a play truck for him when he comes back from basic training he leaves may 9th and I wanna get it done with the best possible parts and your right I may not have the know how to do a sas but I nave friends that do and I'm trying to do a favor for a friend serving our country so any snide comments how if im asking questions because I don't know for sure would be more appreciated if not said thanks

@Alex its my. Buddy who's goin in the the military's truck so Im doin it as a surprise when he comes back scoot has a v6 but idk what liter I'll have to look the next timeout to my house that's where the truck is at its gonna be a play truck he doesn't want full size axles because he wants to drive it on the road I heard there is some year of bronco that the axles went. Its not a snide comment. You gave us no information and I have been around long enough to know that when people ask what you ask they don't know what they are doing. I just stated that you need to read all the SAS threads that are on this site and then ask us questions. There is no step by step instructions.

Anyway your axles will depend on what you plan to do with the truck. You could run a D30, D44, D60 or rockwells. There are a lot of different axles that could be used.

There are alot of variables when makeing sas change....tire size, engine size, trans and trans case, gears and the list goes on.

 

The 77 ford bronco had Dana 44 disk brakes and fits really well in a ranger

 

This. The above is a good swap since it retains the same coilspring and radius arm setup, just from the donor vehicle...or if you like new long arms (custom or aftermarket).
