Not sure where to list this as I am new to the forum. I have a 98 extended cab and am getting a sort of knocking noise upon hitting bumps. I have recently replaced the upper control arms and ball joins, left inner and outer tie rod ends (right was still good to go, as well as both lower ball joints), all 4 shocks and sway bar bushings. Any ideas what could be causing this sound? Thanks for your help!

Just to clarify, noise is from passenger side front only. I also get a groaning from the drivers side when turning left at slow speeds. Thanks for the reply 06.

 

I had a knock coming from INSIDE my steering rack. Had to replace the rack.
Have someone rock the steering wheel while you are under the truck with your hand on the rack. Your truck will tell you whats wrong while doing this.

 

i also have a bad rack! it makes a similar sound!
