So... I know about the Max tire thread, but I don't really know much about tires/rims, hence I don't know what setup I've got now.
'03 4x4 Edge with 245/75/16 as stock tires.
Walmart has the GoodYear Wrangler Authority tires on sale:
265/75/16 for $166 each (normal price $196)
From the above quote, which setup do I have? 16x7? 16x8? 15x7? 15x8? I don't know what these numbers signify.
Thankz. :-)
I want to say 16x8.
16 is the size of the rim, 16 inches tall. 8 is the width of the rim.
the first number (245/265) is the radius of the tire. 265mm.
the second is the width in mm
third number is the rim size of the tire.

Is this a proven statement? If so, I should have 16x7, correct?
In that case, the 265/75/16 should fit without a t-bar crank? But a t-bar crank will level it out anyway.

And that's why metric tire sizes are silly. Look at what I had to do to find the size of the tire...
OK heres a easy way to see it. Your an 03 and have 245/75/16 stock and are much higher than the new rangers that come with 255/?/16. They will fit fine. BTW Goodyear makes that tire for walmart so dont expect anything great
x2
Nope. first number is width. second number is the sideweall expressed as a percentage of the width. (265/75/16.... side wall is 265*.75=198.75*2 (2 sidewalls) is 397.5 convert to inches, divide 397.5/25.4=15.6 + 16 (wheel size) = 31.6 inch diameter.
