What is this under my truck?

Its right infront of the spare tire and right above the rear diff. Anyone know what it is?

it's a bomb. just cut the green wire.

I think that goes with the emissions. I think it is called the evaporative canister to catch the gas fumes.

Not to threadjack, but could this be a possible cause to smelling gas fumes when the gas gets churned up? Noticed it when I was wheeling tonight.

I need to make a heat shield for mine. My exhaust has melted some of the plastic. lol.


Can anyone tell me if it's bad that my exhaust heat has caused the plastic to melt?
