The time has come for new tires. What I'm looking for: decently agressive, all terrain tires good in all weather and snow and sometimes mud. Oh yea, I don't want to break the bank either.

Pedro recommend BFG A/T's which is what I was already considering. Anyone else got an opinion?

Btw, I'm using my stock tear drop rims unless someone can recommend an affordable set of rims that would look good on my truck.

I second the BFGs. They are excellent in the snow and mine wore very nicely with frequent rotations.

 

Well after talking to Pedro again, the Mickey Thompson classic 2s in black aren't that expensive.

I'm looking at 4 BFG A/T's 32" and 4 MT black classic 2's for right at $1000, which isn't bad at all

I will have to get a camber kit when I fix my alignment too.

Will the BFG's need to be driven for a bit before I get them balanced?

Can someone photoshop these wheels onto my truck?

id fourth the bfg's.... BUT i found a new tire that has much better all around performance, and gets better MPG.

I used to have 33x10.5 BFG AT's. I got about 460 per tank. Bumped up to Falken Wildpeak's in a 33x12.5, and i get 500 per tank average. they ride nicer, much smoother, no issues whatsoever. (other then the shop i got them from doing a horrid job balancing them. They clear mud better, they dont hydroplane like the BFG's, and have a harder tread that has more grip and is wearing better.

I highly doubt he would know. He just got the tires like last week. There is no way he can already tell.

 

Does anyone think it would be worth going with a 33"? I might be able to get a better deal at a certain shop since I'll avoid shipping.

Also, a local tire shop got the idea in my head that American eagle wheels series 185 wheels would look better. They would only be about $20 more a wheel.

 

I say go with 33's if you plan on installing a body lift, but I think 33's would rub on a stock truck.

 

No BL in the future, ever. Only suspension.

My torsion bars are almost maxed out, but I could probably turn them a little to make sure. I guess I could install spacers if it needs it

 

If you had maxxed bars and put shackles or something in the back you would probably be good.

 

But as far as my input goes... I know they are totally unagressive looking, but my Michelin LTX AT/2 have done great for me. I have driven in rain, in grass, standing water, a little mud, they have never slipped. They do look pretty good but are really not all that agressive looking. It does have kind of a knobby edge that I like.

 

i 2nd the Duratracs...i paid 170 a tire for mine and BFGs are usually in the 200+ catagory

 

third the duratracs. i love mine. dont show any wear either. and i got over 15k on them id suppose

Classic 2 blacks and 33x12.5 BFGS.
I've never had a problem with any of the A/T's that i've had. I've gone through three sets of them, they have all gone around 60-70k miles.
FWIW, I got a quote for $169 a tire installed, with warranty.

 

Either the BFGs or Duratracs... you'll be happy with either one!

 

Cooper ATPs sound like what you are looking for. I just reviewed them in this thread.

wheels always look better. You can pick up the polished wheels I had for around $500. I got mine for 520 installed

 

these. I love mine. the wet traction is great, they're great offroad, and they do nicely on the dirt. mine are wearing great so far.

 

I think I'd get tired of polishing wheels, or get lazy and not want to do it

 

yea justin it is kind of a pain in the *** to keep up in polishing the wheels...if i could do it all over id go with black wheels
