that's the first thing I thought, but would you want your 100 dollar set of pioneers crushed by a boulder...

Cool idea. It could be a 6.5 tho. Once again geat idea, but why you would want speakers outside your truck is beyond me.

Or get good quality door speakers and amp them and be able to open your doors and hear it a block away...

get a good set of marine speakers and some 6" light housings, then make your own set with a decent set of speakers. pyle is a waste of an attempt.

Just buy some Bose speakers that look like rocks and set them up in your favorite off-road camp site. Then you dont have Pyle speakers or open doors!

Yes, they hold up.

Yes, they sound awesome.

I don't even use marine audio stuff (er, I mean car audio painted white) crap. Have done 3 or 4 complete boat stereos this year, will be doing 2 more over the winter. I do this professionally and have tried a lot of ideas and combinations.

I totally agree. Just because the cone is poly and waterproof doesn't mean the center dust cover, or surround, are that way. Marine speakers, designed for a good soaking, would be the way to go.

My lights on my front bumper have been fully submerged briefly, and pilingup water in front of the truck -- that's an AWFUL LOT of pressure on any speaker, and I question would any of these hold up then. Probably belong on your roof or something. It's a neat idea for a PA speaker, but not on the bumper for sure.

They wouldn't survive as a PA speaker, they don't have the power handling or the sensitivity to be able to produce enough decibel-age to be heard from more than 10 feet away. Plus if you put more than 15w on those they're gone!
