how big a trailer

how big a trailer

New here. i have a 2011 4x4. Want to buy a pull behind trailer for it. This truck is used off road daily, not a city truck. I need a 1/2 man camper. What do you think I can pull? Bring it guys

I have a 16' car trailer I pulled with a 3200lb car on for 30 miles through stop & go traffic. The Ranger handled it pretty well. I don't think I'd want to drag that kind of weight around off road. I wouldn't be afraid to pull a pop up camper anywhere it could follow. I have a picture of my Ranger with the loaded car trailer but I can't figure out how to put it on here. I'm computer challenged.

Heavyest load I ever hauled with my old 04 Ranger. It had 4.10 rear and pulled quite a bit better than My 3.73 geared 11 Ranger, although I havent towed much with the 11 yet. I can see quite a difference in everyday driving up hills and such. My 750 Deere weighs just an right around 3500 and a 500lb trailer. Knew it was there, But it pulled in overdrive on the flat and slight grades really well.

You first have to upload your desired image to another site (photobucket works). And then you have to look for the links. They look like this

Keep it under 5000lbs and you should be fine. The truck is rated for 5600 if its an extended cab 4wd.

I haul a 14x7 single axle trailer every year, multiple trips, average trip, is 70 miles round trip. Hauling 2 face cords of fire wood.. You can squeeze 4 face cords, but thats completely maxing out the suspension of that ranger.... Total weight with 4 face cords, trailer + truck is pushing like 11,000 lbs.... That was a scary drive home lol

i pull an airboat with mine. while not very heavy its like dragging a big parachute behind me. the only thing i cant do is 70
