My 2000 Ranger xlt has the two front bucket seats with the center console, my friend has a 97 xlt with a front bench type seat. I'm wondering if I could find a bench seat and swap it out, and if it would be a bolt in relatively easy or would I need to modify anything??

yes it can be swapped if you are referring to the 60/40 split bench. Just find one close to your year and bolt in. You could probably sell the buckets as most people prefer the buckets and console. Which should help offset your costs.
