Can my 3.0L Single Cab tow a 6x10 enclosed trailer?
Can my 3.0L Single Cab tow a 6x10 enclosed trailer?
Hi All,
I'm looking at picking up either a 5x8 or a 6x10 enclosed trailer for my motorcycle trackdays and racing weekends but i'd highly prefer the 6x10 due to additional space.
My question - will my 07' Ford Ranger with a 3.0L v6 AUTO (single cab) have any difficulties pulling the trailer or I suppose, more importantly, stopping it? The trailer wouldn't have too much in it, just one racebike (~425lbs wet) and some equipment like an EZ-up, tent, gear..etc.
What do you think? If stopping is an issue I suppose I could always pick up an electric brake system right?
Thanks!

Before buying the trailer, look into total weight. You'll definitely want a trailer brake system. Also check to find out your rear end ratio. The lower the number, the less desirable to tow with. You'll also want to turn OD off anyways.
