Any flow master would sound good on a 3.0. Personally I think glass packs sound the best for your engine. If you want a barely noticeable difference get a resonator tip at pep boys. They give it a little rumble and for $15 I noticed a difference in mine

I meant an exhaust tip would be about $15. I think a glass pack is around $30 or $40

Leave the catalytic converters on, and put the muffler after them. Same place where the muffler is on your truck now.

Or just take it to a muffler shop and give the muffler to them. They'll put it where it needs to go. That sounds like the best option for you.

Your options are pretty broad. Try looking on YouTube. I already posted one video for you. Flowmaster 10, flowmaster 40, magnaflow, Spintech, whatever.

So i am debating either a Dynomax Thrush Glass Pack Muffler or a Thrush Turbo Muffler
Which one, if either, would give me the deep sound i am looking for

Only you know exactly what you're looking for. The rest of us can only help so much. Listen to them on YouTube and decide for yourself. Find a shop that carries them and see what they think.

Ok i like what this guy did,
2008 Ranger 3.0 V6 cherry bomb glasspack exhaust - YouTube
"> 2008 Ranger 3.0 V6 cherry bomb glasspack exhaust - YouTube
" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">

Would mine sound the same if i left the rear stock exhaust exit intact? does the tip really matter? would the stock diameter of the rear exhaust effect the deepness and would i be better off having a side exit

Won't know the answer to that unless it specifically says that somewhere, so I'd assume the cats were left alone.

Just get the muffler.

How'd it work out? I need a new muffler so I'm keen to find out before I replace it.
Generally a larger outlet diameter will produce a deeper tone (tuba compared to trumpet)
Resonator tip always a good idea.
My brother has a cherry bomb on his 2.9 and it sounds farty.
I believe the only real way to get close to that V8 sound would be to expand the diameter to 2.5" as far up as possible and install large diameter tuned headers.
I am not sure how that can be done without screwing up emissions because you'd have to either scrap the cats or get larger diameter cats, then you would still be missing the emission sensors that are mounted on the stock exhaust manifold. The computer would show codes failing inspection.

Post a video of your result and please put the mic near the tailpipe with no music playing. (not like those other videos, hehe)
