Hello everybody

Just did wires and plugs and it won't start. Started smoothly prior.

I followed the wire pattern which is 123 564 from the coil. Any suggestion. I was meticulous to one side at a time. Anti-seize on the threads and dielectric grease in the wire boots.

Any suggestions. It is not even firing.

Is the coil plugged back in?
4 wire connector

3.0l had two different coil models/mounts

4 wire Connector on drivers side and passenger side, and where that connector is determines the spark plug wiring

So it could be

depending on which side the 4 wire connector is located
So same firing order just rotated 180deg because 4 wire connector is on opposite side

Cylinder numbering is always the same

Check EEC fuse and Fuel Pump fuse in engine fuse box, both should be 30 amp
One is for spark the other for fuel

I never unplugged the coil or disconnected the battery. But the wiring sequence seems to be correct. My coil on the passenger side sequence below.

Pull off passenger side wires first replace plugs, then replaced wires. Then did Drivers side. Same order.

Never touch fuses.

Also to note, replaced with Motorcraft plugs SP-413 and Motorcraft OEM wires

But 2 and 6 should be firing, so make sure those made it to the right cylinders

1 and 5 are match pairs, as are 2 and 6, and 3 and 4, each pair sparks at the same time, thats why the wires are connected the way they are

 

Okay thanks for the pic, That looks like my truck. So I want to make sure.

this is the cylinder order. As the wires are numbered so I just have to make sure the wires are on the right cylinder and then hook them up as per your diagram.

This is what I have for cylinder numbers in the block

Yes, standard Ford numbering on a "V6" engine

RonD Big Thanks. reconnected as per your guidance. Started up smoothly. Next time I am in BC visiting my daughter, I will buy you a Tim's Us Canadian's will know what that is.
