Engine stutter
Engine stutter
Been trying to chase this issue down for a little while and I figured someone else must have this problem as well.. so I may as well ask. 93 4x4 with an unsure mileage as my odometer only reads up to 5 digits. Whether engine is warm or cold, during acceleration, nearly every time I approach 2k rpm the engine stutters and drops to about an idle, maybe slightly faster. Sometimes I get lucky in 2nd and it won't stutter. First I was thinking it was a fuel problem so I have replaced fuel filter, lines, and have gone through the system with sea foam. After the sea foam, the issue almost disappeared, but about a week later it came back just as bad. Now I'm not sure what the heck it is. Happens in any gear, any speed, however when in first, it doesn't always happen but when it does it occurs at about 3000 rpm instead. getting rather frustrated trying to chase this issue. Occasionally in 1st from a dead stop, with plenty of gas to get it moving, the engine will lug clear down to 500 rpm, leaving me to be the slow guy off the green light, only going about 5 mph for the first 10 or so yards. Any advice as to what I need to test or replace.. thanks!
