I've recently noticed on my 2003 Ford Ranger that my parking brake light is staying on all the time, even after I've released it. I looked under my dash to where the parking brake pedal assembly is and noticed that there is nothing making contact with the switch plunger. I manually verified that the switch is working however by pressing in the plunger with my finger.
The problem I have is that I do not know what part is actually missing. I assume from what I've read, that there should be a rubber stopper of some kind that makes contact with the switch's plunger. All I can see on mine is a metal tab sticking out.
I haven't been able to find a picture of this online. Just wondering if someone could post a picture with the missing part for my reference?
