Windshield wipers?

The wipers on my '94 Ranger are *****. I want to get a set of those nice silicone wipers that apparently last way longer. Which ones would you guys recommend?

Rain-X, single arced rib, no metal !

Also, get the next smallest size of Wiper, my '03 calls for 18" and I run 16" without any noticeable change in Wiped Area. The smaller size will work ok and reduce drag and ear on the motor and linkage.
My wipers linkage, used to make a slight noise, I never could find it; I went to the smaller sized wipers, 16" Single Bar, and no more noise.

Also, buy the Windshield Wash from Lowe's, great stuff, acts like the Rain-X Wipes that used to out there... i.e. water beading, water run off.

These are items I use and both work great.

p.s. I get my wipers from Auto-Zone !

I like Bosch icons. Like the rain-× they have no metal or springs. They handle our northeastern winters and rainy summers great.

I just bought one off the shelf at Canadian tire and it works fine. Why replace both of them if you don't need to.

Nothing says you need to replace both wipers at the same time but chances are you will need to replace the other one sooner than later !

Put both on, keeps the drag on the Linkage the same, wears them both the same, and they get replaced same time every year.

I like to replace both my wipers in late spring early summer, June timeframe. That way I get clear view through eh summer, winter next, and spring next years.

The once-a-year time frame works for me, everyone is different.

I use the budget Goodyear's from Costco. When I have a blade that starts to skip I will get a $5 replacement blade. Sometimes they will last over a year and other times they won't make it through the winter.

If you clean them with some of that 303 aerospace stuff a couple times a year they last alot longer. Found that trick on some random YouTube video and was pretty sure it would just make them streak but it didn't and seems to keep them from getting hard or falling apart.
