Hey, so funny story...was working on the radio in my 99 Ford Ranger, and while my radio was taken out temporarily and waiting for an off day to reassemble it, my A/C vent in the center was exposed, and I had my phone place in there for no rational reason other than lack of thinking, and it fell straight into it and behind the metal plate, could be in the heater core. Does anyone have advice on any ways to get it out without having to take the entire dash out or having to spend around $1,000 for a mechanic to get into it?

 

does it have a case? can one of those flexable 4 prong things grab it?

 

It does have a plastic case. The prongs are not going to be able to open up wide enough though and won't have the strength. I was wanting to make sure there wasn't a trap door on the bottom of the heater core because the diagram online didn't show one.
