2wd 2004 already dual exhaust. What upgrades?

Already have a dual exhaust mostly looking for horsepower and better mileage looking for more upgrades

What engine?

Assume V6 with dual exhaust, 3.0l Vulcan or 4.0l SOHC?

There is not much you can do for either, turbo or super chargers are about it.

Dual exhaust shouldn't have changed power unless there was a problem with stock single exhaust, looks and sounds better though

No car maker has an exhaust system that causes back pressure at any RPM in a 4-stroke engine, thats a Myth

It's the 3.0 Vulcan I was thinking about air intake is it worth it?

Depends, it’s kinda like a kid putting cards in their bicycle tire..... it’s just gonna make more noise, if u wanna here the intake than yes it’s worth it..

Yes, +1 ^^^

All fuel injected Rangers came with Cold Air Intakes(CAI), and 200% air filter size
Also Tuned exhaust, just FYI.

Yes, you can change air intake to look or sound better, that makes vehicle your own, customize.........."better in hock than stock" lol

But no power gain, and many lose a little power.

The 3.0l Vulcan is a high RPM engine, so you need to drive it that way
Most engines make their best power/torque at 2,500RPM
3.0l Vulcan is a SLUG at 2,500rpm, it starts to make power at 3,200-3,900rpm depending on year
2004 3.0l has best power/torque at 3,900rpm !!!!
Best horse power at 5,200rpm

You are NOT over REVing the engine at 4,000rpms, so drive it like a "rented mule" get those RPMs UP and keep them up.

This can be a pain with an automatic trans, they are setup for 2,500-3,000rpm engines

Morana Racing has some 3.0l stuff: Tom Morana Racing Engines
Most of it only makes sense if you are racing in a 3 LITER limited category

thank you! Will definitely look into that and bought my trucked used and was confused why it was so high reved thought the guy before me may had done something
