1991 Ford Ranger 2.3L Supercharged, Need Help and Some Info
Hi, everyone. I recently bought a 1991 Ranger with the 2.3L, 5 speed manual, and 4.10 gears. I got it for $1,700, some guys told me that was a bit much. But the previous owner has put a new clutch in it and tires. Replaced the doors, and bed. The body is o most perfect, I live in the rust belt, Northeast Ohio. I found this Ranger about 4 hours from me in PA, anything closer is a bucket of rust. In the last 3 weeks I have been cleaning the underneath up and undercoating it. I have about 20 cans of undercoat in it, a bit excessive? no, this is the rust belt. And then I sprayed it with transmission oil, in doors, e.g.
Okay let's get to the point, I bought this for a work truck and will have over 600 LB of tools in the bed. I would like to get a bit more power out of it, and am not interested in swapping the engine. I was talking about putting a turbo in it, one of my buddy's recommended a AMR500 Supercharger. it would be easier to install. At lease I think.
One question I have how much boost will this engine completely stock take, I'm talking about low boost 5 PSI or less. Without causing any damage. I have some Bosch 4 hole fuel injectors coming for it.
Second question where do you think it will put my HP at?
