The new Felpro pan gaskets are meant to be installed dry with a tiny amount on RTV in the corners and where the front timing cover meats the block.
They have metal spacers in the gasket so you can't over tighten and crush the gasket, so hopefully the Ford has the same new design.
I have a Felpro pan gasket in mine and when installed correctly they don't leak, and mine isn't leaking.

One rear crank seal isn't any better then the other, I installed one of those new Teflon seals in mine and it's leaking.
My first attempt was with a Felpro crank seal and the garter spring somehow popped off and it really leaked oil then.

I never did figure out why the garter spring came off, I know it was on there when I installed it.

Have a look at this thread I started, I thought it was the pan gasket, but it was OK even though I should not have used all that RTV.

That's great thanks, Ford buried the spring in there so deep that there's no way it's going to pop out under crank case pressure, in fact, any crank case pressure looks like it will hold the spring in there even more.

Are you getting your parts right from Ford, RockAuto doesn't list any Ford crank seals or pan gaskets ?

What's the part number off of it, that would ne much appreciated !
