The seat belt retractors in my '86 are completely shot. LMC Truck only sells lap belts and I would bet that anything I'd find in a salvage yard would be in similar condition.

Any sources for replacement seat belts? Maybe someone makes some sort of universal seat belt kit? The wife is demanding that this is the next thing on my to do list.

 

Seat belts are a simple mechanism. They are all bolted in 4 spots... retractor, upper mount, buckle, bottom mount.

As long as there are no electronics (or pyro pre-tensioners), any belt with the right size holes will work.

 

There are seat belts on a few different sites but none of them cite specific fitment to an 86 ranger. seatbeltplanet.com has belts for the 87-92 ranger here. They also have belts for the 83-90 Bronco II here. Do you know the difference in seat belts between the 86 and 87 and between the BII and Ranger?

Another site, seatbeltsplus, has Bronco and Ford truck belts but no ranger.

I'd imagine the 87 belt or even the bronco belts would work but I'd really rather avoid buying the wrong parts if at all possible.
