'01 Ranger Radio/Cruise Electrical Issue
'01 Ranger Radio/Cruise Electrical Issue
My '01 XLT regular cab's radio doesn't work. The fuse is good. I bought the truck like this, but what I was told is that in the past the cruise control and radio would swap back and forth which system would work. If the radio worked, the cruise didn't, and vice versa. What I have now is the cruise works, but the radio does not. The clock doesn't work either. It does get power to the lighting with the headlights turned on. I mean the controls on the radio light up. Other than that, I can't give you guys any more information. Any ideas?
In 2001 Ranger fuse #10 in cab fuse box is for cruise module, also flasher so turn signals would be effected if it was losing power here
Fuses #20 and #28 are for the radio
So not a 12volt issue
They also use different ignition switch power wires
Could be ground, but can't see why it would be one or the other
I don't see any common crossover points between the two systems
Illumination of radio or cruise buttons is separate power, but may use same ground, so puzzling

I actually haven't checked fuse 28 (I checked 20 though), so I'll do that now. If I edit this post, good news (for me) may have happened. If not, I do have my truck scheduled with Ford, so they'll figure it out.
