I have a 97 ranger with the 2.5 manual.
I’m putting on 15x8 wheels that have 30inch tires on them. I was planning on also swapping the gears in the rearend with 4.88s to try and save some gas and keep it driveable. But on down the road or soon I was looking into doing a 5.3 swap as well. On that swap I would also put in the 4l60E transmission. Would the stock rearend with 4.88s hold up with the new 5.3 and tranny? Or will I need to swap the rearend and driveshaft?
