I own a 1999 Mazda B4000 4x4 TL Edition, which is similar to a Ford Ranger. I want to do some mods to it, including a Bull Bar or Grille Guard. The only problem I have is I cannot find anything that says it will fit my vehicle. There is only a bull bar with no skid plate (so what's the point). I was wondering if the ranger and b4000 bodies were identical so I could attach it (no cutting or welding) to my vehicle. Are the front ends similar enough to buy a 1999 ranger bull bar/grille guard and attach it to my 1999 b4000 TL? Any other information I should know is appreciated! Thanks y'all!
Hey, sorry it took me a year to get back to you...
I don't get on here much and I decided tonight to check my posts as I was browsing. I am only about 1hr 30min from you. However, I would love to talk with you more about your bull bar, if able, please go to my instagram and we can chat there. If not we can still chat here.
Here is the very rough sketch. The measurements you need are;
width out to out of frame
subtract that from width inside to inside of bar. That will tell your the difference you need to make up with mounts. Don’t forget to subtract width of Steele. Mine was 8”. That’s why I put 4” on the sketch.
measure from bottom of frame to bottom of valence. That will clear the bar. That is what I called bar mount.
need measurement from mount holes to curve of bar. That will give you the location of mounting holes you drill in the mount.
