Stuck rear door
Stuck rear door
Hello, all. I’ve been having an issue with my right rear door not opening. The handle works and the latch on the top of the door comes undone but the bottom one won’t. Is there an easy way to fix this?
Spray some PB Blaster in the lower latch location, get it freed up and then lubrications the rest of the mechanism.
You might be able to take the inside of the door apart and spray PB Blaster on the lower portion, hoping to free it up !

I’ll give it a try, thanks!
Make sure the bottom cable in the handle isn't loose. The piece that connects the cable to the handle is cheap rubbery plastic that crumbles apart, and then the cable gets sloppy which results in the latches not opening.
If this is the problem, you can open the doors by holding the cable in the door handle with pliers, and then pulling on the metal cable with a pair of needle nose. That should allow the door to open. If that does not open the door, then the lower latch cable is sloppy at the bottom latch, so you will have to remove the rear door panel as much as possible to reach your hand in and manually release the latch from inside the door.
There are kits that fix this issue. See below link. You need to replace the ends of all four cables, because they all use the same garbage plastic retainers. That is why they give you 8 repair ends. Two for the handle end of each door, and two for the latches in each door. The special cam one is for the upper latch.
